Hello Shadia,

At Library and Archives Canada (LAC), archival materials are described in MIKAN a purpose-built system with a MARC-based data model.   LAC holds the archives of our national post office, Canada Post, and has an appreciable philatelic collection with over 66,000 descriptions in MIKAN, most with tag 258 for Philatelic Issue Data.

Examples of field 258 were provided in the 2004 MARBI proposal

Select type of material: Stamps and postal material.

It is possible to see some philatelic item level data, but not in MARC format.

This links to an item description of an individual stamp.  Unfortunately, it is not possible to see tags and subfield codes but it is usually evident from the field labels.
