Hi Eric: This is wonderful news. We were forced to get rid of our cherished set about 8 years (or so) ago. While it is available at the main library, this will be a time saving option. Thank you to all involved in organizing and bringing to fruition this momentous task. ~Allison > Good morning, > > I am very pleased to announce that thanks to the efforts of Karen > Muller, Mary Jo Bolduc, Cara Setsu Bertram, many fine people at ALA, > the staff of the ALA Archives in Urbana, Illinois, HathiTrust, the > University of Michigan, and Mansell Publishing all 754 volumes of the > _National Union Catalog, pre-1956 Imprints_ are available online to > the public for free viewing at the following URL: > > http://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/000140237 (you will likely need > to zoom in a bit, the original volumes were far larger than most > current computer screens) > > Less than a month ago I inquired if the ALA would be willing to make > this open to public view as one of the copyright holders, and everyone > was very enthusiastic and extremely helpful in making that happen > (including the ALA archives staff in Urbana who were able to locate > the original 1964 publishing contract).
