One early project was recorded for Debut, "Introducing Paul Bley." I put it on. He and Blakey and Mingus came to have fun, and they succeeded. Tea Pot keeps a rolling boil. Can't Get Started plays with some nice melodic substitutions. The 12" version finishes with a very hip Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. Charles Mingus, Record Producer. Crazy.

Subject: [ARSCLIST] RIP Paul Bley

Paul Bley's pedigree in recording went back to making 45's for EmArcy in the early 50s and he passed through many phases stylistically and professionally. He had many releases on labels like BYG/Actuel, ESP-Disk, Improvising Artists, ECM etc. He will be missed.
