Dear All, Supposing that the ISO 639-3/RA and the ISO 639/RA-JAC would now be wanting to follow the rules of international standardization, and specially read and apply the normative text of ISO 639-3, they would only apply clause A.2.3. of the part 2 of the normative Annex 2 of the ISO 639-3 standard. This clause clearly states that when the ISO 639-3/RA rejected a request for a new ISO 639-3 alpha-3 code element for a name of language, no appeal of this decision is possible but a request concerning the reservation of the considered alpha-3 code element can be directed to the ISO 639/RA-JAC. The JAC many times refused such requests for reservation of rejected alpha-3 code elements that I made in the interest of ISO 3166. Cordialement.
