Clicking that link (I haven't played the clip yet), something occurred to
me.

Somewhere around 90 years ago, the talking machine industry was worried
that the radio would supplant the phonograph. But in the era of radio
stations and networks archiving their broadcast material online for
on-demand playback, in some ways the radio has essentially *become* the
phonograph!
