Thanks everyone who responded. A colleague forwarded the following from GPO, so this issue was resolved the day after my question.

PURL Resolution: Issues Resolved

For a brief period, PURLs with “purl.access.gpo.gov” in the PURL address were not functioning.

We are happy to report that this issue has been resolved. Thank you for your patience as we worked to correct the issue.

Subject: Re: [FEDLIB] OFF TOPIC: GPO access.gpo.gov PURLs No Longer Working?

Hi,

Some folks here at EPA had been having trouble accessing GPO sites (including FDsys). Our Trusted Sites list is controlled by a system administrator., so tightly controlled that I can’t even see which sites are on the Trusted Sites list.

I submitted a ticket to our local IT helpdesk asking them to add the domains https://*.gpo.gov and fdsys.gov to the Trusted sites list.

I can now access those sites. In fact, I could access the document that you included the PURL for.

Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section (CCIPS). “Searching and Seizing Computers and Obtaining Electronic Evidence in Criminal Investigations.”

Hope this helps.

Subject: [FEDLIB] OFF TOPIC: GPO access.gpo.gov PURLs No Longer Working?

This is not directly FEDLINK related, but I’m not part of any FDLP listserve, so I apologize for the departure.

Every time today that I’ve tried to use a GPO PURL with the purl.access.gpo.gov as the host, I’ve gotten a “Not Found” error. They were working last week as far as I can tell. An example is http://purl.access.gpo.gov/GPO/LPS11361. I asked our Depository Librarian, but she hasn’t heard anything about the old Access PURLs being cut off, and they’re still active on the GPO catalog site.

Does anyone know what’s going on?

Thanks,

Signe
