It would depend entirely on the nature of the collection. If it consists
primarily of major label releases of items converted to CD, there is little
reason to retain them, unless they were unplayed, and even then their
intrinsic value is doubtful. Small labels, unusual repertoire never
converted and excellent physical condition might improve their
attractiveness. The only reason to retain unique Lps is to transfer them to
digital, and then only selectively based on what the final repository would
be. Sorry to argue the converse, but there it is.
