Ted, I "normally" do only name authority records in NACO, but I have on occasion input or modified a series authority record, so go ahead. I've received no training in it, so I do very few, and carefully.

Someone sent me training materials for series authorities. As a NACO cataloger who only has training in name authorities, would I be able to revise and replace that record?

Thanks, Ted Gemberling

Oh, I just realized that 1982 publication was a reprint of something published under the older series in 1910. Would someone just revise that authority so it doesn't imply that only photo-offset reprints by Da Capo Press belong to it?
Thanks, Ted

There is currently an authority for Modern methods of treatment, published by Da Capo Press in New York. The 670 gives the name of a work from 1982, and I think that's the only work in OCLC that really belongs to that series. There seems to be another series by the same name that went from 1904 to 1920. It was published originally by Cassell and Company, London, and W.T. Keener & Co., Chicago. Paul B. Hoeber, William Wood & Co., and Funk & Wagnalls also appear to have published some of the titles. But Cassell and Company published until the end in 1920.

I think the chance that it's the same series as the Da Capo series is close to zero, though I guess it's possible. Since I am not trained to create series authority records, I can't create a new one. On bib #21798798, I created an uncontrolled 830 with qualifier (London, England). I don't know if that's the right way to do it.

I hope someone can help with this.
Thanks,
