Ha! It sounds like someone buzzing on a kazoo and tapping the desk. At the
very least, the pitch modulation (goes flatter as it progresses) suggests
this is a recording of a mechanical process (like, a diaphragm-based buzzer
of some sort, hence my kazoo speculation) rather than an electronic tone
generated from an oscillator...and I've totally reached the edge of my tech
envelope. I'm looking forward to learning what others might reveal!
