Subject: Re: COSLA/IMLS Funding for the National Book Festival

Hi Guy:

For those of us outside of the library networks, I don’t think stipends come from COSLA but from NEH.

Can you confirm for me who the NEH contact is? I’m happy to follow up with whoever it is.

Also, is there support for shipping again this year? Just laying plans…

Thanks! And I hope to see everyone again in September.

Best,

Lisa

Dear Rocco and all Center for the Book friends,

This information is incorrect. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Please see the attached for the correct information.

I am sorry this is getting to you later than in prior years. As you all know, Anne Boni, who did a masterful job of organizing this for over a decade, retired in December. We are still playing catch-up in assigning people to fulfill her responsibilities.

Thank you for your patience. We are looking forward to another successful Pavilion of the States at the 2017 National Book Festival.

Subject: COSLA/IMLS Funding for the National Book Festival

Hello Friends,

I foolishly booked travel for the National Book Festival yesterday. Today, I received this from my State Library Contact:

FYI...as of today, my understanding is that there may not be funds for the states from COSLA to support state library participation this year. Apparently imls has not committed funds as yet. Still under discussion.

FYI. No one from the NY State Library will be able to attend if COSLA/Imls does not provide support.

It would be nice if someone from the Center for the Book let us know of the uncertainty of funding before sending out hotel information.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks,

Rocco
