NLS Operations Alert No. 17-52 DATE : August 2, 2017 TO : Network Libraries FROM : Ed O'Reilly, Head, Collection Development Section SUBJECT : Outdated braille titles Attached to this Operations Alert you will find a list of braille titles that contain material that NLS has determined is badly outdated or potentially misleading or harmful in 2017. Some of the books-printed in red and marked with an asterisk-have versions in converted analog-to-digital audio format that were passed over in an earlier sweep of collection titles. The records will be removed from the Voyager catalog and from the NLS Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) site. Disposition of the hard-copy braille may be determined by holding libraries.
