Hello everyone:

VIAF is updated weekly at the beginning of the week (Monday or Tuesday, depending on timing factors), rather than daily. So, while NACO records are exchanged among the NACO nodes daily, a NACO file is submitted once a week to VIAF.

VIAF is updated weekly, but some participants in VIAF do not send updates that frequently. So, whenever a participant sends a file, it is incorporated into the weekly update.

Sincerely,
Cynthia

Subject: [PCCLIST] VIAF File Update Frequency

Good morning:

Regarding VIAF's update frequency:

As it is maintained by OCLC, Does it update continually as authorities move out of "in distribution" status or is the schedule more consistent, like once-a-week?

Just curious.

The Viaf "about" page does not say it appears.

Thank you

Jesse
