I’ve emailed Paul Frank about this (editing related authority records when you change a 100) before and he said “It is optional but highly recommended that you also update any dependent records when the re-coding of an authority record to RDA involves a change in the 1XX.”
This is why I’m now very cautious about closing out dates for people with multiple pseudonyms in 400s that also have open dates. Thought I was just closing out Anne Coulter Martens. Then she had four pseudonyms in 400 fields who also had open dates. Well, that’s not so bad… oh, the 400s also have name-title records. It was fun, but also more involved than I had planned on it being.

I've always considered it standard procedure to modify any and all related authority records if you make a change to the AAP. (That should kind of help in understanding why unnecessary changes to an AAP should be avoided...)
