This position is assigned to the Nursing Services Program (Administration) of the Erie VAMC. Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Organizes and initiates acquisitions of library materials.
- Performs cataloging, subject analysis, and classification of books, periodicals, government documents, and technical reports in a variety of formats,including print, video, audio, and electronic.
- Utilizes Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) to perform subject analysis and Library of Congress Classification (LCC) schedules to organize library materials.
- Performs as a librarian in the public area, providing reference, research, advisory,
and instructional services.
- Interviews and interacts with customers to establish and analyze their requirements.
- Formulates unique search strategies and conducts effective searches using appropriate retrieval methods.
- Instructs faculty, staff, students, and other customers on the content, nature,
and use of total library resources, including how to search various commercial databases and the Internet.
- Conducts group and individual tours, orientations, tutorials, workshops, and
- Prepares and submits monthly and special reports.
- Performs primary administrative duties related to general office and specifically
library operation.
- Tracks and receives orders, reconciles billing, updates local purchase tracking database and all other activity associated with purchase and procurement.
- Provides budget projections and resource utilization for the Library Fund
Control Point (FCP).
- Other duties as assigned.

Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
