I would say no to an ARSC Facebook list. I signed on for a few months
way back in Facebook's stone age and retired my account when the first
security problems arose, lo those many years ago. i haven't been back. I
don't Twitter, either. As another member just said we all have email. We
also have what's known as a telephone (although I draw the line at cell
phones - I don't use them, either). To be fair, Facebook can be useful
if one is physically isolated, but it's still not necessary for
communication or getting one's point across to those to whom you need to
get it across.
Just my 2ยข worth.

In short, a "Group", in Facebook terms, functions more like a web forum, and would not replace our existing Facebook "Page", which is designed more for ARSC to communicate with members and the public (but, to a lesser extent, supports user submissions).

The OMC will discuss the results at our meeting later this month and will update here after we've had a chance to process results and weigh options. If you would like more information about what such a group would entail, feel free to write me and/or Andrew Hansbrough ([log in to unmask]).
