Methods and processes should provide a structured repeatable process/way to reach our goals/projects. You can measure and compare apples to apples right. But methods and processes should not become projects and goals in and of themselves. They are enablers.
We need to herd the cats, focus the minds, and come to agreement on what is we are doing/trying to accomplish and how to get there and how that might change along the way and capture those things.
But it drives me nuts when it becomes all about PMP or Agile or CX the processes - all about the method and not about meaningfully solving the problem/reaching the goal.

This is now 3 years old, but, still relevant and may be timely for some of us.
