The Air University Library at Muir S. Fairchild Research Information Center on Maxwell Air Force Base, is seeking individuals with an MLIS from an accredited university to serve a Periodicals Librarian.

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Periodicals, the successful applicant will perform detailed work for Periodicals Section including processing new, current, and retiring print and electronic journals; assisting with binding; re-shelving bound volumes; updating databases, Word files, and spreadsheets; tabulating statistics; and serving at the reference desk. There will be some night duty (Library is open 0730-2100 Mon-Thurs, & 0730-1700 Friday) and Saturday scheduling, which is shared by the reference team. A security clearance is required.
The applicant should also be able to form strong working relationships with students and faculty, assist in answering reference questions as well as other academic needs, provide support to the reference desk, cooperate well within a team oriented environment, among other project duties as assigned.
