Hi Wynand,
This is very interesting. I’m curious, how does adding the URIs affect your display? Have you/are you working with your catalog vendor to hide the $0? I’ve been focusing on URIs with metadata because I have more
control over that, but we will want linked data in our catalog eventually as well. Have the workflows at your institution changed so that copy cataloging includes adding URIs? Thank you for sharing this information, it will be valuable moving forward.
Melissa

Hi Melissa,
I am also very much interested in the answer to this. For MARC we are using the services of Backstage Library Works. I hope we can use their services for MODS as well. See:

Subject: [MODS] URI Automation
Hi there,
Has anyone heard of or practice the automation of adding URIs to MODS records? I’m aware of ways that it can be incorporated when converting spreadsheet data to MODS, but was wondering if anyone had a different workflow for adding the identifiers?
Sincerely,
Melissa
