NJ in the past has contacted authors through their publishers. In 2014 Ruta Sepetys sent two autographed books to our winner. In 2015 we had a NJ author's alley at our LAL reception which Wendy Mass attended. We surprised her with a winning letter from one of our eighth grade winners. She in turn gave our winner two autographed books. Hope this helps.

I’m still new to this process but I think the students believe they are writing to the author and some of the letters are so powerful if I was the author I’d want to read them.
