All,

The PCC Directory is once again operating correctly and you can enter your statistics.  Due to this glitch,  we are extending the deadline to April 26.  Thank you for your patience.

Subject: Facing issues for entering PCC statistics

Everyone,

I apologize we are having some issues with the PCC Directory.  For those who are trying to enter statistics please can you wait.  We will need to extend the deadline.  The Library is now working to resolve the issues.  The secretariat will notify you when the system is working correctly and announce the new deadline.  Thank you for your patience.

Hi Mark,

I will answer to the discussion list in case others have the same question.

Please see the Guidelines document under “NACO Statistical Categories” (p.2): http://www.loc.gov/aba/pcc/pccd/Guidelines-for-Entering-Statistics-in-PCC-Directory.pdf

You have two options when it comes to recording series statistics:

1)      You can record your series statistics separately from your other NACO statistics. In this case, you would enter the series statistics under New SARs and Changed SARs and your other NACO statistics under New NARs and Changed NARs.

2)      You can combine your series statistics with your other NACO statistics. In this case, you would record both your series and other NACO statistics together under New NARs and Changed NARs (and just leave New SARs and Changed SARs blank).

We introduced the second option to allow more flexibility for libraries that do not wish to track their NACO series statistics separately from their other NACO statistics (and for libraries that rely on OCLC Usage Statistics, which do not track them separately).

Best,

Manon

Manon:

Are we supposed to exclude series authority records from our total NACO number?

Hi Ann,

Only those institutions that have chosen to report their statistics twice a year need to enter 6-month totals. For each program in which they participate, they would enter the 6-month totals under March 2019 (the last month in the six-month period). The other months would be left blank.

For institutions (like you) who have chosen to enter their statistics monthly, you do not need to enter 6-month totals. All you have to do by April 15th is make sure that you have entered your monthly numbers in each of the first 6 months (Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar) of the fiscal year. When we run the mid-year statistical report, the system will total up your months for us.

Let me know if anything is still confusing.

Best,

Manon

Manon -

Just to be clear ... If someone has been entering statistics every month, is it also necessary to enter the 6-month totals?

Dear PCC participants,

This is a friendly reminder that April 15th is the deadline for PCC institutions to enter their PCC statistics for the first half of fiscal year 2019. All NACO, BIBCO, CONSER, and SACO contributions made during the months of October 2018-March 2019 should be entered into the PCC Directory by this date.

Instructions can be found in the “Statistics” section at the bottom of the PCC Directory web page: http://www.loc.gov/aba/pcc/pccd

In particular, please see the “Guidelines for Entering Statistics in the PCC Directory” which were recently updated based on queries received:

http://www.loc.gov/aba/pcc/pccd/Guidelines-for-Entering-Statistics-in-PCC-Directory.pdf

After the April 15th deadline, we plan to run a report on the statistics that have been entered in the PCC Directory. The report will be posted here: http://www.loc.gov/aba/pcc/stats.html

Thank you,

Manon
