Dear Mr. Judson,
I am so sorry to offend you. I was the sender and I certainly didn’t mean it as spam.
I have been on the list for several months, although I am more of a “listener”.
Since I live far away, LinkedIn is one of the few media at my disposal to make contact with others in my profession throughout the world.
Again, my sincere apologies to you and to anyone else I may have offended.
Regards and best wishes,

Did others on the list receive invitations such as this? Interesting that it occurred within a day of the sender appearing on the list…

I consider linkedin a spam thing since I don’t participate in it (though I know it is a useful tool for some), and wonder of a blanket spamming is some kind of violation of list rules?

No offense meant from me to the sender, but I don’t use “social media” and definitely dislike random spams.
