In the past, states were asked to bring a book to give to LOC which I think was also the display book. But the past two years, we were not required to buy the book. For 2017, I had a book to give but when I went to the display it was already there.

To be honest with you, I am not sure how many folks really check out the display from the masses. I think each state displaying the book at their booth is best. It also allows for engagement beyond just stamping a map. And it’s one less thing to manage for LOC.

This would have to be taken on/organized by those on this listserv. Could someone chime in, who is familiar with how this was organized in the past, assuming you all even want to do this.
I don’t know how successful you felt this effort was in the past.

Dear Guy and Team,

Guy, I like your idea of “a table with a display of all the books, not the individual state tables. I think we did this at least one year.”

Do you have the staff for this? If so, we can bring an additional copy to the one we donate the LOC.

Additionally, we will display the book at our table with information cards and bookmarks on the book.

Has there been word about the Junior League Volunteers? Can we expect to have at least one with us at all times?

Thanks,

Rebekah

This is exactly how Wyoming will do it: one book with information cards available.

Hi Guy,
At the Idaho table, we won’t have a book display, but we will have copies of our book that we’ll be giving away. We are bringing two staff people, so we should be okay. Thanks. Donna

All—were you planning on having a book display at the POS?

No pressure to do this. Just asking so we can get a volunteer to watch the table so the books don’t walk off.
