Network library staff who have completed at least six months on the job may now register for one of three 2020 NLS orientation programs. The 2020 orientation schedule is:
Representatives from each of the NLS divisions, sections, and offices will brief participants on NLS functions and answer questions. Each registrant may choose two one-hour Experience NLS sessions on topics such as accessing the Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) service, audiobook production, and book selection for the national collection. Participants will also have a professional tour of the Library of Congress buildings on Capitol Hill.
A sample agenda is available at 10.4 Sample Orientation Schedule. Participants are expected to attend the entire three-day program.
