Colleagues,

As a  way of enticement for the upcoming GIS Day I thought I would send along an article done on one of our speakers, Guoping Huang, who is the main force behind the Lhasa VR project that is mapping this UNESCO site with 3D laser imaging... Dr. Guoping Huang is an Assistant Professor and Urban and Environmental Planning Program Director at the School of Architecture, University of Virginia. His research interests include digital visualization, Geodesign, and “alternative futures” approach in urban and landscape planning. His team will be presenting his results at our November 13th event...see the link below for more on what you will be seeing. I also attach the preliminary program for those who have not seen it yet.

All the best.
