Hi Howard, IRCC 83 is definitely a re-recording from a vertical cut Pathe. Pensee d'automne was originally issued as a cylinder around 1903 then as a disc some years later, both issues transferred pantographically from a master cylinder recording. Pathe destroyed all their metal parts for vertical cut records pre World War 2. The only modern pressing of an historical Pathe disc from a stray metal part was issued by the late Henry Kurtz years ago and that was an Ellen Gulbranson title. Unfortunately none of Lassalle's excellent Odeon discs were reissued from original metals in the 1930s by I.R.C.C. or H.R.S.and quite possibly all the metals were destroyed by then. Ward Marston intends to publish a complete Lassalle according to his website.
