I propose we start with these questions and then, when we have clear, shared goals and vision, research an application to NEH for support for the network and (or as) a unifying project. Who Are We? Let’s all think about this and talk in Feb! What do we want in a CFB network? What does our state want from a CFB? Common goals/common vision. Unifying project? Also wondering how many of us have asked: "What does our state want from a CFB?" and what those answers are. Thanks, Alayne, for managing the tech for this meeting! I think it would not work to have each center providing discrete info for the LOC booth ... but I do think it would be wonderful for all of us and for the booth if LOC would work with the network to develop a brochure about the state center network ... for the LOC booth and, too, for each of us to use to buttress our work in our states, commonwealths, territories, districts... And I would love if our portion of the LOC website were juiced up so that it's more than a list of links but was a content subsection of the site that we would all link to from our own sites. /S ********* Sharon Shaloo, Executive Director Mass Center for the Book [log in to unmask] 617.872.3718 (office) massbook.org On Fri, Feb 14, 2020 at 8:47 AM Rocco Staino <[log in to unmask]> wrote: Unfortunately, I won't be able to join the Feb. 20 meeting. However, I would like to add the following item to the agenda. Information regarding the center for the Book and State Centers for the Book should be available at the Library of Congress conference exhibit. I was disappointed when I stopped at the LC exhibit at ALA midwinter and there wasn't anything available about the Center for the Book. Who as State Centers should we contact to express our desire that such material be created and shared? Sorry to miss the meeting. Rocco.
