Subject: [PCCLIST] update: reconfiguring OpCo 2020

Hi everyone,

The agenda for the PCC Operations Committee (OpCo) meeting has been posted:
https://www.loc.gov/aba/pcc/documents/OpCo-2020/Agenda-OpCo-2020.pdf

It is on the PCC home page under “Upcoming Meetings and Events”. You can also get to it by clicking the “Calendar” link on the left-hand navigation menu on any PCC website page.

The agenda currently has links to 3 of the reports that had been scheduled to be presented at the OpCo in-person meeting (Standing Committee on Applications update, Standing Committee on Standards update, and PCC Task Group on Metadata Application Profiles) as well as the registration link for joining the virtual OpCo webinar that will be hosted by OCLC later this week (Thursday, May 21, 3-5pm Eastern time). That webinar will feature presentations on RDA String Encoding Schemes, the PCC Guidelines for Minimally Punctuated Records, the OCLC Entity Management Infrastructure project, as well as a general OCLC Update.

We will continue to update the agenda with additional links to presentations and reports as we receive the files from our OpCo presenters in the coming weeks. We also hope to announce the date for our LC-hosted online CONSER event soon. The CONSER-specific OpCo presentations will take place during that meeting.

Have good week!

Manon

Dear PCC participants,

You might recall that we had to cancel this year’s PCC Operations Committee meeting (OpCo), which was originally scheduled to be held at the Library of Congress on May 7-8, 2020.

I’m happy to report that our OpCo speakers will be making their presentations and reports available to you in other ways:

The OpCo agenda will be posted on the PCC website, as usual, and we will be adding links from each agenda item to its corresponding file or webinar as the content becomes available.

We are extremely grateful to our presenters and to OCLC for helping to rescue OpCo! For those who had planned to attend the in-person event, we know it will not be the same, but we hope you will join us for the webinars and enjoy the soon-to-be-posted presentations and reports.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best wishes,

Manon
