Here's another thought. Capture the 78 using a stereo cartridge (though not a microgroove stylus) and use the Center Channel Extractor effect in Adobe Audition to isolate the music. I've had some success using this technique with mono albums, though it does dull the sound of the music somewhat. J. D. Mack Stage 2 A/V Productions
