Hi Jesse,

Input of one unit will shunt the input of the other unit.
Frequency response of each unit will be changed depending on the input 
impedance of both units + capacitance of each cable
(confirmed by measurements).
Simple resistor splitter will give you high signal level loss.
To compensate the signal level losses you need to increase input sensitivity 
simultaneously increasing noise floor.
To get really independent performance of the system without signal level 
loss, you need a distribution amplifier.
I use the ELAN Audio "RDA-02 AUDIO DA" in my studio, did similar 
installation for The National Library of NZ for Dolby A and Dolby SR 
parallel decoding.
