Join your colleagues for a series of virtual workshop on preserving digital content and digitizing collections, including text, photographs, and audio/video materials. Choose between the full workshop ($200) or a one-day session ($175).

The 90-minute sessions will be on Thursday and Friday, March 18 - 19, 2021.

 

March 18 topics feature preservation and digitization processes in three sessions:

Preserving Born Digital Collections (9:00am-10:30am ET)

Ensuring Access to Digital Content (11:30am-1:00pm ET)

Caring for Originals during Digitization (2:00pm-3:30pm ET)

 

March 19 topics focus on technical requirements and specifications for digitization of specific collections:

•    Text and Photographic Materials (9:00am-10:30am ET)

•    Audio-Visual Materials (11:30am-1:00pm ET)

 

Instructors for the modules are from the Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC).  NEDCC is a non-profit conservation center that provides conservation, preservation, digital imaging, and audio reformatting services to cultural heritage clients nationwide. In addition to conducting preservation assessments and consultations, NEDCC’s Preservation Services Department has a longstanding reputation for providing professional development training via webinars, web courses, workshops, and conferences and for providing preservation assistance via its publications, collections emergency hotline, and Ask NEDCC service.
