Baseball-reference.com has the following information:

12 June 1970—There was a doubleheader on this day. Ellis pitched the first
game of the doubleheader. Maybe Ellis was interviewed this same day?
13 June 1970—Pirates were still in San Diego,  and they played the Padres.
