Dear colleagues,

Following the first two meetings of the PCC Sinopia Cataloging Affinity
Group
<https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/LD4P3/PCC+Sinopia+Cataloging+Affinity+Group>,
the facilitators would like to offer a Working Hour option to create a
space dedicated to creating actual descriptions in Sinopia, rather than
presentations and discussions. During the working hours, you can join your
colleagues virtually via Zoom, work concurrently on resource descriptions,
and discuss issues that you encounter as you work on creating resource
descriptions in Sinopia. A facilitator will be present to help beginners
get started, but participants with any level of experience are welcome to
attend and create descriptions.

*When*: Thursday 16 Sept. 2021, 1PM Eastern (Time zone converter
<https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html?iso=20210916T170000&p1=tz_et&p2=tz_ct&p3=tz_mt&p4=tz_pt&p5=tz_bst&p6=tz_cest>
)
*Where*: Zoom, registration link
<https://columbiauniversity.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJAvdOqopjotGdYWhCt4cI6o0w-pE38u3js->

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing
information about joining the meeting.

For this first working hour, we would like to focus on creating
descriptions for basic print monographs, ideally monolingual. Use a book
you have at your desk, or feel free to create a description based on a
record in OCLC or your local catalog.

Best regards,

Ryan Mendenhall
PCC Sinopia Cataloging Affinity Group facilitator
