Hi Everyone -



I just wanted to send an e-mail to invite you and your staffs to participate via webinar in a free Department of the Interior Library Training Session entitled "Public Records Research on Westlaw" on Tuesday, October 12th from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm ET, part of our series of free training sessions available from the DOI Library.



Public records research can be a daunting task, but it can also be interesting and enlightening. The term "public records" implies the information you are researching is public, and available for anyone to review. While this may be true to a certain extent, it is important to remember that "Public" does not necessarily mean these records are readily accessible. The objective of this Westlaw Public Records Seminar is to teach researchers and attorneys the available resources and search techniques to help them locate people and businesses, identify and assess risk, understand critical connections and how to gather information on clients, experts, companies, assets, liens and other filings that relate to civil and criminal actions. During this class a Westlaw trainer will show you how to research individuals using People Map and research companies using Company Investigator.
