John, this is perfect timing! I have several Sony Minidisc decks which I have been wondering what to do with! I'd be happy to send a couple of them to you, at little cost plus shipping. There is a lot to know sbout the MD format - I have an associate who was as much of an expert on them as you could want; I'll ask him if he can help you learn abut them. I can say for sure that you cannot load them to a coputer at faster than real time, unless they are the later Hi-MD format. You have to play them in realtime. But if you get 2 or 4 of my decks, you can do multiples at a time - that is what I do with cassettes, with three Nakamichis and an 8 track recorder. Get in touch with me offline and we can talk or email about it. I would LOVE to see these decks go to a good home where they will serve and be useful. I saved them from our old radio studio and am too attached to just send them to recycling, but have no actual use for them - we long ago transferred all our MDs to computer.
