I wonder if we really need a poll to determine meeting time on Friday?  In past years, we have met from 3 to 5  or 4 to 6, allowing everyone time to set up the booth and then clean up for the meeting.

Related question:  In the past, LOC hosted a Friday night reception.  It was held variously at the Botanical Garden, in the Jefferson Bldg (only 1 time) and then for many years in the event moved to the Montpelier Room of the Madison Bldg. Is that going to be scheduled or has it been precluded?

Side note:  Recommendation for a restaurant just a block or two from the Convention Ctr if you are staying at the Cambria (most especially the small plates):

I am planning on having a meeting of all of us in town on the day before the NBF. I will set up a poll to determine what time works best for most of us. I realize that those coming long distances may need to arrive two days early if they want to attend and that, for some, this will not be possible.

Stay tuned…

Thank you!

Does anyone know what days there will be program activities happening that we should plan to attend?

All,

At very long last, the reservation link for the authors, Roadmap to Reading participants and other invited guests to make NBF hotel reservations is finally ready. This year’s hotel will be the Cambria Suites Convention Center at 899 O Street NW, Washington, DC, 20001. The room rate is $169 plus applicable taxes (guaranteed until August 1, 2022 OR when the room block is full, whichever comes first.) The block runs from Wednesday, August 31 through Monday, September 5. All stays on those days will be $169/night. If individuals wish to check in earlier than 8/31 or stay later than 9/5, normal rates will apply. Cancellations made seventy-two (72) hours prior to check-in date shall be at no cost.

I know not everyone has funding secured yet, but you can make a reservation now and cancel at no charge if done three days in advance, should you not attend. This is the same hotel near the convention center we have used in the past.
