Specific duties include: teaching library research methodologies and strategies in all disciplines and formats; development of instructional handouts and exercises; assist diverse faculty in designing library research activities; assist patrons at the reference desk, including one evening a week and weekend rotation; coordinate the Cofrin Library's World Wide Web page, including evaluation of new sources and updating of the content; investigate and implement new technologies in classroom instruction. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have an ALA accredited MLS by the starting date, be self-motivated individuals, and demonstrate the ability to work independently. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. Group teaching experience and familiarity with html programming and internet technology are strongly preferred; reference experience is preferred. STARTING DATE: July 1, 1997 CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT: This is a twelve month, full time, Professional Academic Staff position, Category A title Assignment: Associate Academic Librarian, pay grade 4.
