MacMillan Law Library of Emory University School of Law is accepting applications for the position of Systems Administrator to begin July 1, 1997. Reports to the Associate Law Librarian/Director of Law School Computing. Responsible for supporting UNIX services for law school faculty, staff, and students (approximately 800 users) including e-mail, WWW, FTP, IMAP4, POP3, NFS, DNS, and Majordomo. Currently the law school servers include 2 HP J210 systems running HP-UX 10.20. Will also be responsible for moving some or all of these services to Windows NT in the next 2 years. Provide leadership necessary for planning and maintaining cutting-edge technological resources in support of learning, teaching, and research. Liaison with central ITD and other related units on campus. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field. Three to five years experience in systems administration and operating system support on a UNIX system (System V, Release 4). Must know HTML, Perl; experience in C language and CGI script writing. Experience with Windows NT and knowledge of databases highly desirable. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work effectively with faculty and students; ability to work independently and cooperatively in a changing environment, and a willingness to accept new responsibilities. Experience in a law school or academic environment preferable. Salary and Benefits: $39,312--$51,084.80. Comprehensive benefits package including TIAA/CREF.
