Performs original descriptive cataloging of art works, following established written Inventory guidelines and AACR2. Inputs information using USMARC Visual Materials format into the online Smithsonian Institution Research Information System (SIRIS) (http://www.siris.si.edu). Seeking catalogers with experience in using USMARC format and national library of museum cataloging standards and authority files, especially for visual or nonbook materials. Demonstrated experience in performing original versus copy cataloging highly desirable. Knowledge of American art, art history, or American history or American studies useful.
