VIRGINIA YOUTH TECHNOLOGY CORPS LAUNCED
Youth in the Washington, DC area are beginning to gain control of the
information highway. Virginia Tech has launched Virginia's 4H
Youth Technology Corps that is helping youth take charge by getting
their Masters at MIT ( "Masters of Information Technology"). Learn
how volunteers are making a difference in helpling youth take charge.
Learn how your community or organization can get involved in
supporting this movement in Virginia, Maryland and D.C.
Learn how to become a mentor to these young leaders.
If you arn't part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
Come join the Festival of Learning. You will want to share this
information with the youth in your community.

- Protect your family from consumer abuse! Don Elder and Coleen
Trexler will present the U.S.Consumer Gateway (http://www.consumer.gov/)
developed by Fed.Trade. Commision.
This site adds to the growing familiy of "one stop shops" designed
to make it easier for taxpayers to find and use information available
from government agencies. Anyone in your familiy that likes to get
the best deal shopping, will thank you for introducing them to this
site!
HOW TO HELP OTHERS FIND YOUR WEB SITE ON THE NET
- Increase the usefulness of your organizations Web site to the
customers you are trying to serve. You will learn how to "index
your web site" properly to increase the chances that customer "serach
engines" will find your site.
