I'm glad the idea of Z39.50 access for EAD finding aids has re-surfaced.
This idea has interested me for a while and I wanted to mention an access
point we're in the process of developing to provide integrated access via
Z39.50 & Dublin Core to several online structured resources here at our
museum, including our EAD finding aids. This is definitely NOT a full
fledged EAD Z39.50 profile, but just getting our feet wet with Z39.50 and
trying to integrate our existing resources for the user. Perhaps I can get
some early feedback from this group?

If you'd like to try the non-public test site out, visit
http://www.bampfa.berkeley.edu/search/zinit.html

**Please be aware that this site is NOT yet for the public, so don't give
out the URL to the public. It also needs a lot of work as far as interface,
but the basic building blocks are in place**

I'd be curious about any other Z-access proejcts which included EAD
resources. I know there is the Monticello project. Others? If you have any
feedback or thoughts on our services, I'd really like to hear it -
regarding the semantic mapping, the interface; anything. Thanks,
