EXPORT-IMPORT BANK OF THE UNITED STATES INTERNSHIP PROGRAM The research library and information service at the Export-Import Bank of the United States is seeking a full-time intern for approximately eight to ten weeks during the summer of 1999. The desirable candidate for this position would be a library school graduate student, but applications may come from undergraduate or graduate students in business, finance, or law. The deadline for receipt of applications is March 12, 1999, although this is somewhat flexible due to the nearness of that date. The interns selected for the program will be paid and appointed at the GS-4 through GS-7 grade level, based upon individual student qualifications. Level of education, (federal grade level), annual salary: --Junior/Senior undergraduate student, (GS-4), $19,849 --Bachelor's degree, (GS-5), $22,208 --First year graduate student, (GS-7), $27,508 Duties include the following: --Assist in training Ex-Im Bank staff on tools such as Bloomberg, and in news databases, bank spreadsheet analyses, plus local and internet databases; --Assist library and Bank staff in interpreting basic information needs and clarifying desired results; --Assist library staff in gathering, digesting, and organizing financial or economic data, news material, analyst reports, official documents; --Assist library staff in identifying and obtaining required information from a broad scope of electronic sources or direct personal contact with organizations anywhere in the world.
