Hello, I'm writing to announce and invite comment on the working prototype of an online, searchable, resource of EAD-encoded finding aids for conceptual and intermedia arts collections. This resource is being developed in collaboration by the members of the "Conceptual and Intermedia Arts Online" project. Members include museums and arts and research institutes: * University of Iowa Alternative Traditions in the Contemporary Arts * The Walker Art Center * The Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College * Berkeley Art Museum / Pacific Film Archive * Franklin Furnace Archive * National Gallery of Canada * Getty Research Institute for the History of Art and the Humanities * Tate Gallery, London This resource is a first prototype still under development, and so contains many finding aids without images or with limited markup, etc. since it is merely a proof of concept and starting point. The resource should not be seen at this stage as a stable, public resource (please don't re-announce or create public links yet). However, in developing this site, we would greatly value any comments or suggestions from other professionals working with the EAD and/or developing similar resources. We are interested in hearing any type of comment and criticism. Please email me at [log in to unmask] with your comments or questions. The search page requires a Javascript-capable browser. The prototype can be found at: http://www.bampfa.berkeley.edu/ciao/ (Search CIAO Collections) Thank you!
