Fellows and others,

According to the Los Angeles Times, Encyclopaedia Britannica has decided to
go online for free <http://www.eb.com/>. The article looks like the LA
Times picked up a press release.

See the article for the details:
Britannica Gives In and Gets Online
By JONATHAN GAW, Times Staff Writer
Thursday, Oct 19.
<http://www.latimes.com/news/front/19991019/t000094383.html>

This resource has been available via the web on a subscription basis for a
while. The article indicates that they've decided to switch to advertising
to pay for the online service.

Later,

Betty
