Colleagues outside of North America have been seeking an easy way to obtain Encoded Archival Description (EAD) guides published by the Society of American Archivists (SAA). We are pleased to report that the Research Libraries Group (RLG) has partnered with SAA to make this possible. Individuals and institutions outside of North America may now use an order form at the RLG Web site to purchase copies of "Encoded Archival Description Application Guidelines," version 1.0 (1999, 330 pp.), and "Encoded Archival Description Tag Library," version 1.0 (1998, 262 pp.). Orders will be filled from RLG's London office, so that purchasers save on shipping costs and receive the books more quickly. The order form provides for a choice of payment method: publications can be charged either to VISA or MasterCard or (by RLG members and customers) to an existing RLG account. To order, UK/JANET sites can use http://www.rlg.ac.uk/rlgead/. Other European sites are likely to find http://www.ohio.rlg.org/rlgead/ a faster connection. (A link at the foot of RLG Web pages enables readers to change their access pathway at any time.) For more information about these publications, see http://www.archivists.org/catalog/ead_resources.html at SAA's Web site.
